Getting Back to Rehearsals!

Oh my goodness it has been quite a year!

I am very pleased to finally feel confident enough that we *can* get back to rehearsals to write this post. We have been waiting, and I have avoided promising something I could not guarantee. Now that so many of us are vaccinated (myself included!) and hopefully restrictions are lifting, we can look to getting together to play and make music once again!

We have plans… Music has been ordered, purchased, and arranged. We will be sending out a link so you can download the music and get practising.

The plan is to start rehearsals in August at the University. We will be back to our normal Wednesday evening 7:00 pm time. Music stands will be provided, but you may prefer to bring your own to avoid any unnecessary touching of equipment. (the university is well equipped with hand sanitizer!)

What’s on the musical menu you might ask?

Here are some you can download right now…

Shostakovich Symphony 10 mvt2: (scroll down and choose your level for your individual part) https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/ten-pieces/dmitri-shostakovich-symphony-no-10-2nd-movement/zn8kvk7

John Adams Short Ride in a Fast Machine: https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/ten-pieces/KS2-3/zkthsrd

Other pieces (to be sent via link) include the iconic Radio4 Theme Tune (yes, the really early morning one), Appalachian Morning by RObert Sheldon, Three Bavarian Dances by Edward Elgar, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azscaban. It’s going to be fun…

and I can’t wait!!!

We meet back on Wednesday 4th of August in the Chapel at the University of Chichester.

Want to join? You are most welcome! Please send us a message via this website and we’ll write back!
